IAH Compton Annual Boundary Run & Walk
The IAH Compton Boundary Run first took place in 1975. Although walkers are reported to have taken part in some years (the earliest being 1982), complete records for the Boundary Walk only exist from 1993 onwards.
The route – and the distance – of the event has, inevitably, altered over the years: for example, in 1996 the route changed to avoid running on the verge of the A34; in 2000, the route was altered across fields from Fairfield to Cheseridge; and a shortened route was used following the Foot and Mouth outbreak of 2001. No record of the precise route exists, but it is believed that it was broadly the same as that used between 1992 and 1995. It was recorded in the June 1993 edition of ‘Compost’ as being 9.29 miles.
